How the Feature is determined: at registration the driver draws a number to determine his heat race starting position (10-14 cars per heat race.)  The top four finishers in the heat race transfer to the Feature. Any car that did not transfer from the heat race has a second chance, or Consolation (referred to as the "consi") race from which the top 4 again transfer to the Feature. Note: this is based on 4 heat races, if there are only enough cars for 3 heat races, then 5 from each heat and Consi transfer to make the 20 car Feature.

*On 9/15 we ran the sixth annual Twin 25's Sportsman Special at Oakshade. In this event there are 2 features of 25 laps each. We won the second Feature in 2001 and 2002, so we had to go run this again this year as a past winner. Just for fun...read all about the evening in the recap page.

As you can see...compared to the 30 plus shows we used to run every year...this year was pretty limited. With my kids racing over 20 shows this summer in the Quarter Midgets, we did not have a lot of time for me to race. But that is OK, I have a ball working with my kids and watching them improve and have fun.
